I am Donny Petrie, a husband, father, student, and Soldier. I was born in Denver,
Colorado and raised in Henderson, Nevada where I enlisted in the United States
Army in October of 2000 as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician.
I attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, Advanced
Initial Training at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama, and EOD school at Eglin Air
Force Base, Florida before being assigned as an EOD specialist.
Throughout my twenty years of service, I have served in every leadership
position within the EOD field from Team Member to Battalion Command Sergeant
Major. My assignments have taken me to Fort Irwin, California; Wright-Patterson Air
Force Base, Ohio; Fort Knox, Kentucky; Redstone Arsenal, Alabama; Fort Carson, Colorado; Fort Drum, New York; Camp Humphreys, Korea; and Fort Bliss, Texas where I currently serve as a member of the Sixth Fellowship Cohort of the Sergeants Major Academy.

My military education includes Basic Combat Training, Ammunition Specialist Advanced Initial Training, The Naval School of Explosive Ordnance Disposal, Basic Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, First Sergeant Course, Sergeants Major Course, Anti-Terrorism Officer Basic Course, Advanced Improvised Explosive Device School, Army Sexual Harassment/Assault Response and Prevention Course, Master Resiliency Course, and the Army Common Faculty Development Instructor Course. I currently hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Arts focused on Biological Studies and Administrative Management from Excelsior College and am currently enrolled in Syracuse University's Instructional Design, Development, and Evaluation Master of Science Degree Program.

I am married to my amazing wife of nineteen years, Robin, with whom I have two wonderful children, Isabella and Anthony.

Upon completion of my Master's Degree program, I plan to serve as an instructional facilitator for the United States Army Noncommissioned Officer Leadership Center of Excellence and Sergeants Major Academy. Upon retirement from the Army, I hope to utilized my knowledge, skills, and abilities as an educational professional.

I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, golf, gardening, hunting, fishing, and graphic design.
