Formative Evaluation Report - EIB Pro Application

PROJECT SUMMARY
This project was completed during the Spring 2021 Semester as a requirement of the IDE 641-Techniques in Educational Evaluation course within Syracuse University's Master of Science in Instructional Design, Development, and Evaluation (IDD&E) Program. The purpose of this group project was to identify an established instructional tool to conduct formative evaluation upon. Working as a group, we executed a thorough formative evaluation of the EIB Pro Application to include expert and user-level reviews to contribute to our evaluation of this instructional application.

IDD&E PHASE
This project involved the development and execution of a formative evaluation. As such, this project may be described as pertaining to the evaluation phase of IDD&E.

REFLECTION
This project allowed my team to explore formative evaluation to gain a better understanding of its purpose in educational programs. Through this exploration, we gained a greater understanding of how, why, and when formative evaluation is executed while also enhancing our understanding of the value formative evaluation practices provide to educational products and programs. Ultimately, this project provided my with a deeper appreciation of formative evaluation practices and will serve my partner and I well in our futures as educational professionals.

SELF-ASSESMENT
This project, completed during the Spring semester of the IDD&E M.S. Program, displayed my team's abilities to create and implement formative evaluation practices on an instructional program. I feel that this evaluation was very thorough and would allow the owner of this educational project to expand upon it to better serve its purpose of enhancing Expert Infantry Badge testing success. Ultimately, Andy DeUnger and I worked well together on a project of importance to both of us, resulting in a well-designed and executed formative evaluation.
